Spotify
What is it?
The Spotify TV app is a cornerstone of in-home entertainment, delivering a seamless, immersive experience for music, podcasts, and increasingly, video content.
It acts as a central hub for households, bridging traditional audio streaming with the evolving demand for high-quality video, and reinforcing Spotify’s position as a dynamic, multi-platform service.
What did I do?
I led a comprehensive redesign of the TV app’s Home, playlist/album, and podcast pages—as well as the player interface—to integrate new video capabilities for music videos and video podcasts.
My approach included optimising the experience for remote navigation and enhancing video merchandising.
I also developed a series of high-fidelity Figma prototypes for iterative user testing, ensuring that the final design met both usability and aesthetic goals.
What was the outcome?
The redesigned TV app has received widespread acclaim and high-profile media attention.
It was launched globally with a robust campaign, earning praise from key outlets like The Verge and industry commentators, including a notable endorsement from Steven Bartlett.
The positive reception not only reinforces Spotify’s competitive edge in streaming but also highlights the successful evolution of our TV experience.
